Leire Vergara is an independent curator, researcher, andfounding member of Bulegoa z/b, an office for art and knowledge based in Bilbao,Spain. Vergara worked as Chief Curatorat Sala Rekalde, Bilbao (2006–09) and as Co-director (with Peio Aguirre) ofD.A.E., Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain (2002–05). She has contributed as writer toart and cultural magazines, catalogues, and artists’ books. Vergara holds a PhDin (Curatorial/Knowledge) Visual Cultures, from Goldsmiths College, Universityof London. Since 2016, she has been teaching the course “Curating Positions” atthe Dutch Art Institute, ArtEZ University of the Arts, Arnhem.
