16/09, 4–7 pm CET

The workshop is hosted via the Zoom platform; free to attend, registration required via mail.

Everyone can participate in the workshop regardless of the previous literary experience.
Every human being is creative; we must treat that power like a vital organ of our bodies, nurturing it, building it. Our imaginations have given us endless gifts of perception and appreciation, and the strength of our creativity will show us how to make the future thrive. We will forge new rituals for new poems from the broken and forgotten.

CAConrad has been working with the ancient technologies of poetry and ritual since 1975. They are the author of AMANDA PARADISE: Resurrect Extinct Vibration (Wave Books, 2021). Other titles include While Standing in Line for Death and Ecodeviance. The Book of Frank is now available in 9 different languages. They received a Creative Capital grant, a Pew Fellowship, a Lambda Literary Award, and a Believer Magazine Book Award. They teach at Columbia University in New York City and Sandberg Art Institute in Amsterdam. Please, visit their website.

Former US-Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith wrote in The New York Times, "CAConrad's poems invite the reader to become an agent in a joint act of recovery, to step outside of passivity and propriety and to become susceptible to the illogical and the mysterious."

The REGENERATION: (Soma)tic Poetry Ritual Workshop with CAConrad is presented as part of the two-year collaborative project Education from Below, conceived in collaboration with the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Amsterdam, and MACBA – Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona.

The program is supported by:
